The Hip Story Podcast is presented by Transit Music Lounge — 4723 Transit Road in Depew, NY — the Hip-friendliest bar this side of the Canadian border.

When news of Tragically Hip lead singer Gord Downie’s terminal brain cancer was released on May 24, 2016, I decided to put together a series of podcasts commemorating Gord, The Hip, and what their music has meant to me and so many of my friends here in Buffalo, NY.

Each weekly episode will feature one or more Hip fans joining me as a guest to discuss The Tragically Hip, tell stories that have come out of their music, and share a favorite song.

There is no set number of episodes. As long as people remain interested in being a part of it, I’ll keep recording them and putting them out.

So far, all of the conversations I’ve recorded have been with people from Buffalo but it doesn’t have to stay that way. If you’re interested in being a part of a future episode, please get in touch with me via Twitter (@BradRiter) or leave a voicemail to be used in a future episode by calling (716) 462-4252.

Enjoy.
