Tick tock. Make it happen, Darcy.

Hey everyone, it’s a…

FIRE SALE!

2 down, 6 to go.

Darcy Regier continues to work, in sequential order, from the trade list we posted on March 13.

Our second recommended deal went off quite a bit better than planned. We asked for a 3rd round pick in exchange for Robyn Regehr (dealt to L.A. Kings) and the Sabres instead converted the veteran d-man into a pair of 2nd rounders.

So far, the fire sale has yielded three 2nd round picks and a 5th which may become a 4th… and it’s barely begun!

1 down, 6 to go.

We expected Darcy Regier to follow our plan but didn’t know he’d take our list right from the top.

Our first recommended deal went off as we imagined, estimating the value of Jordan Leopold (dealt to St. Louis Blues) to be slightly lower than what Winnipeg pulled in for Johnny Oduya last year (and 2nd and a 3rd.)

We guessed a 3rd and a 4th and the Sabres brought in a 2nd and a 4th or 5th.

Leopold was first on our list. Regehr was second.
