John Scott vs Boston’s Shawn Thornton (1/31/13 at TD Bank Garden)
BEST DAY OF THE YEAR
February 1, 2013- Day after the Game of the Year (see above)
Now it gets interesting. We can’t arrive at a consensus here at TBHQ so we’re turning it over to you. We may have seen the new GOAL OF THE YEAR last night. Which one belongs on top?
A. Ennis from Vanek
B. Vanek from Vanek
C. The defending champion Thomas Vanek vs Flyers’ Ilya Bryzgalov (1/20/13 at First Niagara Center)
STATE YOUR CASE FOR A, B, OR C IN COMMENTS SECTION BELOW.
(The defending champ doesn’t stand a chance but we’re not going to just throw it out until we’ve got its replacement.)
Added 2/2/13– NOTE: This was the ACTUAL defending champ, prior to choice B above, which has become the new champ. This goal really should go up against A for Best Pass of the Year (or even Best Vanek Pass of the Year.)
On today’s podcast, Bob Gaughan and I discuss the Bills’ reported interest in Ray Rice, why it doesn’t make sense, and why anything is possible with Rex Ryan. Also, will LeSean McCoy stand behind his Chip Kelly accusations? We should find out this week.
This week on Grain of Salt, Christa talks with sommelier Tony Rials of Bourbon & Butter and the wine director and general manager of Ristorante Lombardo, Tommy Lombardo. Why isn’t wine as popular among the cool kids as craft beer and cocktails? Why are so many restaurants allowing distributors to create their wine lists? What […]
The newest episode of Grain of Salt features Christa chatting with Chef Jennifer Boye, Chef Jennifer Marabella, and Chef Kate Elliott about the nature of being a woman working in a professional kitchen. Listen and share! This episode was hosted by Christa Glennie Seychew and produced by Tom Burtless.
The NHL draft is June 26th. Smart Thing One: Eichel’s breakout performance at the IIHF World Championships I’ve become a hoarder of Jack Eichel Vines. Strength, possession, position and vision: Eichel does it all in gigantic stride. https://t.co/4YCopDHasT — Scott Michalak (@ScottyMCSS) May 17, 2015 But who can blame me? Jack Eichel doing […]

B is insane. Not human. Makes Seidenberg look like an idiot, the puts it through Peverly's leg's, letting Seidenberg come back and slide on the ice for a little while before toying with Rask. Unbelievable goal.
Without a doubt, Vanek to Vanek (B). It's the equivalent of anything from an AND1 Mix Tape in b-ball, a flea-flicker in football, the masé shot in pool..He DEMORALIZED Rask & the whole Bruins organization with how dirty that goal was, right on down to the guy selling cotton candy in the upper bowl of the arena. You see where I'm going with this...
@TrendingBuffalo Gotta give it to B. Picking it cleanly from Peverly's glove attempt and making Rask look ridiculous makes this one tought to beat. Honorable mention to the 1-timer off the feed from Hodgson. That was a rocket!
