We upped the stakes. We upped the number of bets. We won them all. No reason to believe that we won’t be perfect again this weekend.

COLLEGE:

I had a tough time this week picking between a couple of games so, since we’re on fire, I’m using both.  First, I’m going with the red hot Heisman candidate QB.  Fresh off their domination of West Virginia, Kansas State returns home to take on Texas Tech (the other team to demolish WVU this year).  I’m going w/Collin Klein and the Wildcats in Manhattan -7 over the Red Raiders.

The other game I like is Oregon State, still undefeated and getting their starting QB back, on the road against a struggling Washington Huskies team.  Seattle produced an upset for Washington earlier this season over Stanford but the magic is gone.  They’re not playing on campus, they’re playing at CenturyLink Field which dulls the atmosphere so I’ll take the Beavers -3.5.

PRO:

After a torrid start to his career, Can Newton has devolved into the spoiled, one-trick QB many people thought he was.  The offense for the 1 – 5 Carolina Panthers has been pretty much offensive for the entire season… while the 5-1 Bears defense has been stellar.

All the trends favor the Bears too. The Bears are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games overall. The Panthers are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games on grass.

This game sets up for a clear mismatch with the Bears poised to win in a route.

BUT the house is always smarter than the public so I’ll take the PANTHERS +9 over the Bears.

To be clear– Brady Quinn is starting at QB for a Kansas City team that is favored to win? Give me the other team and the points, even if it’s OAKLAND +1.5 on the road.  (It is.)
