Trying to get to retirement more quickly, we upped our wagers from $20 a game to $50.  We went 1-1, so we lost $5 instead of the $2 we would’ve lost with the smaller bets.

New solution–  more bets!

Alabama goes into Rocky Top to take on a banged up Tennessee team that will be without their starting RB and QB Tyler Bray dealing with some leg issues.  Through six games the ‘Bama defense hasn’t given up more than two touchdowns in a game, not bad.  After the season opening game against Michigan, this is the lowest a line has been for an Alabama game so I’m going to take the opportunity to jump on the defending champs bandwagon for a week – Roll Tide -20 over the Vols.

Side note – I was ready to take S. Carolina +4 in The Swamp over Florida (Spurrier was 68-5 there) but with Lattimore a huge question mark I stayed away.  I’m intrigued by the over 72.5 in the WVU Kansas State game.

The Buffalo Bills are bad. The Arizona Cardinals are even worse.  The most effective component  of the Cardinals offense last week was the scrambling of Kevin Kolb.  With Kolb now injured, John Skelton takes over at QB and is coming back from an ankle injury. And Skelton was not exactly fleet-of-foot to begin with.  Look for Jared Allen and company to have a field day.  Minnesota -6.5 over Arizona.

Ben Roethlisberger does not lose a prime time game to the Bengals, and the spread is tiny enough to be a non-factor.  Pittsburgh -1.5 over Cincinnati.
