Junior forward Javon McCrea is a surefire candidate for MAC Player of the Year and looks the part of an NBA draft pick once his college career wraps up after next season.

Just prior to football season, we told you to keep an eye on UB stud running back Branden Oliver. (Despite averaging 117 rushing yards per game, injuries severely limited Oliver’s productivity. We’ll remind you to watch him next year, too.)

With basketball season underway, it’s our duty to inform you of another future pro playing his home games in Amherst.

Meet Javon McCrea.

Junior forward Javon McCrea is a surefire candidate for MAC Player of the Year and looks the part of an NBA draft pick once his college career wraps up after next season.  He’s listed as 6’7″, 250 pounds, and played his high school ball just outside of Rochester in Newark, NY.

Last night, McCrea scored a career-high 31 points on 15-of-19 shooting and pulled down 11 rebounds for his second double-double in as many games, adding four blocked shots in a 72-52 road victory over Milwaukee.

The Bulls return home to host Niagara on Saturday night at Alumni Arena.

You’re going to want to check this guy out.
